FutureAhead counts down the years and days to a date you choose, with a countdown
on your iPhone, Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, and Apple Watch complications.
When contacting support, please include your device model, iOS version,
Apple Watch model and watchOS version if relevant, the app version, and a screenshot
or screen recording if possible.
Quick help
Set your date: tap the date on the main screen and pick your target day.
Add a Home Screen widget: long-press the Home Screen, tap +, search for FutureAhead, then add the widget.
Add a Lock Screen widget: long-press the Lock Screen, tap Customize, choose the Lock Screen, then add FutureAhead as a widget.
Apple Watch: install FutureAhead via the Watch app on your iPhone, then long-press your watch face → Edit → Complications → FutureAhead.
Waking-hours countdown: set your wake and bedtime in the app, or let FutureAhead suggest them from Apple Health. Apple Health access is optional.
Troubleshooting
Widget does not appear
Open FutureAhead once after installing or updating the app.
Make sure your iPhone is running the latest available iOS version.
Restart your iPhone.
Remove the widget and add it again.
Widget does not update immediately
iOS controls how often widgets refresh to save battery.
Open FutureAhead to refresh the countdown manually.
For the most accurate countdown, use the main app view.
Apple Watch complication does not appear
Make sure FutureAhead is installed on your Apple Watch.
Open the Watch app on your iPhone and check that FutureAhead is listed as installed.
Restart both your iPhone and Apple Watch.
Remove the complication from the watch face and add it again.
Known limitation: Widgets and Apple Watch complications are updated by
iOS and watchOS. They may not refresh every second or immediately after every change.
Apple Health
Apple Health access is optional. FutureAhead only reads recent sleep-related data
on-device to suggest wake and bedtime for the waking-hours countdown.
You can use FutureAhead without Apple Health by setting wake and bedtime manually.
You can also change or revoke Health access at any time in the Health app or in
iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → FutureAhead.
